Between Earth and Sky
Louise Fenne's painted aviary.

Little known in her home country of Denmark, Louise Camille Fenne works quietly from her studio from the island of Funen, nearly 5,000 miles from her nearest gallerist. Yet across America, discerning designers and in-the-know collectors are flocking to her work, captivated by the blend of beauty and mystery ever present in her portraits, where human and avian forms gracefully intertwine.

A secret that may not remain one for long.

Louise's studio is just a few minutes' drive from her charming thatched roof cottage, and it's situated across the garden from the red brick, sea-facing manse and compound of other outbuildings that her parents constructed near Svendborg in the early 2000's. With deep green walls, skylight windows overhead and sail-like fabric coverings that may be raised or lowered for the perfect amount of natural light, it's like stepping into Louise's very own jewel box.
